All About Us
All About Us...
Between 2004 - 2016 St Nics' Playroom (run by St Nicolas' Anglican Church) had a simple goal; to provide the best program, materials and support to local families. Following a highly successful and very popular twelve year run the church opened St Nics' Christian Preschool in 2017, maintaining that original vision of providing our community with the best education and care, for the love of Coogee, and our desire to serve God.
The Preschool caters to children aged 2 - 5 years with capacity for 59 children per day to attend. The physical space has been purpose built and we boast some of the best educational resources and materials on the market, also sea views and breezes and an indoor-outdoor program that encourages organic learning.
Our staff team are close-knit (both with one another and with families!) and maintain regular shifts, so you always know which teacher will be there for drop-offs or pick-ups.
We have an onsite chef and kitchen, food is prepared daily and our menu has been designed to encourage fruits, vegetables and whole foods and is free from refined sugar or excessively processed foods.
Our Christian Beliefs
We believe in the inherent worth of all people due to the intentional creation of the world by the almighty God. We believe that this same God loved the world and it's inhabitants so greatly that he gave his only son, Jesus Christ to pay the price of all the bad acts and deeds of all humans throughout history. These bad acts and deeds are known as ‘sin’. Because Jesus has paid the price of our sin those who believe in him and receive him can live this life to the full and then afterwards go to be with him forever in heaven. We believe that this astounding good news is for everyone and so should be shared with our local communities, not only by word of mouth but in how we treat one another, live our lives and care for the planet. Please speak with our staff team if you have further questions, alternately speak with Rev. Craig Segaert - he would love to talk with you about faith and St. Nics' church.
We recommend contacting your local church if Coogee or St Nics' is a bit too far for you to get to. To find a church close to you click here.
How our beliefs interact with our Preschool
All the permanent team members of SNCP hold the above beliefs to be true. We believe that as educators and teachers we have a responsibility to provide intentional and dedicated Christian education and care to our families as both a service and as a witness to the power of Jesus Christ’s transforming work in our lives.
Do I need to be Christian to enrol at SNCP?
We accept families of all backgrounds, cultures, family structures and faiths to enrol with us. Upon enrolment families are introduced to the team and our community and given a brief rundown of the Christian elements of our daily routine. This includes singing a prayer before meals, listing what we are thankful for and then thanking God during group times, singing and reading Bible stories. We also embed Christian values into our day, such as joy, peace, patience, goodness, faithfulness, love, peace gentleness and self-control. We encourage all families, whatever your background, to visit SNCP and if you're worried or curious about a particular issue or subject please talk to our friendly team.
